SunCoke Energy ovens accept almost any type of coking coal, including expanding coal, providing the greatest coal blend flexibility in the industry, and yielding the highest quality coke at the lowest possible cost.
Conversely, the narrow, vertical design of chemical by-product ovens accepts only non-expanding coal to avoid oven damage, regardless of its suitability in producing quality coke. And frequently, these ovens are faced with the problem of stickers.
