| Oven Walls |
| The oven walls separate the individual ovens (coking chambers) and contain vertically oriented flues called uptakes and downcomers. Walls in the heat-recovery oven are used for structural support and flue gas handling. Unlike a byproduct oven, the walls are not used for transferring heat to the coking process. A single wall handles gas from ovens on either side of the wall. |
