Sole Flues

The sole flues receive fuel rich gas from the downcomers located within the walls, and provide a means of underfiring so that heat is transferred through the oven floor into the coal bed. Retention time of the flue gas is more than five seconds, which guarantees complete destruction of organic compounds present in the coal's volatile matter.
